I wrote in LOG 03 that frustration is part of the process. Well, today I reap the reward - I finally finished my first zine! Here are 5 reasons to make a zine.
The only limit to a zine is your imagination.
Zines from a tangible collection of your thoughts, ideas, and art.
Working across multiple mediums with your hands is meditative.
They allow creative freedom and autonomy from start to finish.
You can trade your zine with other zine-makers.
I will be publishing my first zine next week, so stay tuned!
Have you made a zine before?
Here are a few of the waves of inspiration that rippled out on Notes from day 16 of this “creating instead of spending time on screens” project - love to see it!
I'm really curious about how to do this without it feeling like yet another thing to do, or adding to burn out/ needing it to be perfect. I can't even get started at the moment but just adore seeing this so much.
Zines are so much fun! I love that they're low pressure and that they can be about anything you like. I don't care if no one ever sees them, they feel like a sweet little piece of my brain made tangible.
Thanks for the reminder that they are an option!
